The new Electronic Push-Button Ultramatic transmission is a standard equipment in the Caribbean series. Ultramatic and new Push-Button Ultramatic transmissions are optional on all Clipper models. Three speed manual is a standard with optional overdrive. Torsion-Level-Ride is a standard on all models. It feature an exclusive interconnection between front and rear wheels. A load levelizer unit is mounted on the frame and operating on a timed cycle of 5-7 seconds, compensates for any load change. Coil and leaf spring suspension is available on Clipper Deluxe.

“Crowds are awestruck by the Packard Predictor dream car as it revolve on a turntable during the 1956 Chicago Auto Show. Painted pearlescent white, the ultra-modern 2-door hardtop feature hidden headlights, wrap around and wrap over windshield, retractable roof panels, see-through tail fins, and exhaust ports in the rear bumper. Predictor is equipped with Torsion-Level-Ride suspension, a 300 horsepower, 374-cubic-inch Packard V-8, and an Electronic Push-Button Ultramatic transmission. Though only 4.6 ft. high, Predictor is 18.5 ft long.”
