Suzulight TL

On 26 November 1959, Typhoon Vera destroyed Suzuki's assembly plant. Suzuki made the best of it and quickly built a new, more modern assembly line factory (finished only four months later) and were thus able to build many more TLs than the original goal of 200 per month. Sales in 1960 were 6075, of which 5824 were TLs, against nearly twice as many Subaru 360 and 23,417 Mazda R360 Coupés. Nonetheless, this equalled about five times the total number built of the preceding SF series. By the end of 1960, monthly production had reached 1000.
