WARTBURG KNIGHT Mk 4
Saloon: £717 (incl. P.T.)
Estate: £813 (incl. P.T.)
Wartburg cars, named after a famous castle in East Germany, have an attractively low price tag in Britain and a comprehensive specification. The Knight Mark IV saloon is a large car, with ample boot, and equipment that includes reclining seats, heater and demister, radial tyres, reversing lights, electric washers, cigar lighter, windtone horns and so on. There is also a freewheel device in the transmission - but that is because the Knight has a 991 c.c. two-stroke engine. It is a three-cylinder unit driving the front wheels. Suspension is independent all round and steering is rack and pinion.
