The new berlinette made its debut at the Tour de France rally held between 15-23 of September. Quickly baptized Tour de France, the new model is an evolution of its predecessors. The new body is a highly modified convertible which was designed by Michelotti but this time it is a creation of Jean Rédélé himself. The new car is unusually low – it measures only 112 centimeters. Highly inclined windscreen, aerodynamically profiled front with plexiglass domes over the headlights and a fastback makes it look very attractive.
At the Paris Motor Show in October Alpine launched a whole range of new cars based on the berlinette: the convertible, coupé and coupe 2+2 which has a longer wheelbase.
