Nowy Amilcar Compound został przygotowany w wielkim pośpiechu i zaprezentowany w październiku ubiegłego roku na salonie w Paryżu. Jest to unikalna konstrukcja J.A. Grégoire, której najbardziej niezwykłą część stanowi struktura samonośnego nadwozia wykonywana ze stopu aluminium. Samochód ma przedni napęd i całkowicie niezależne zawieszenie.
Rozpoczęcie produkcji ogłoszono pod koniec kwietnia. Do tego czasu zmieniono wystrój wlotu powietrza. Roadster pojawił się dopiero w czerwcu. Do końca roku powstało zaledwie 35 egzemplarzy.

The new Amilcar Compound was prepared in haste and presented last October at the Paris Motor Show. It is a unique design by J.A. Grégoire, the most remarkable part is self-supporting body structure made in aluminum alloy. The car has front-wheel drive and independent suspension all around.
The start of production was announced late in April. Until then they changed the design air intake. Roadster appeared in June. By the end of the year only 35 cars were made.
Compound is produced in collaboration with Hotchkiss.

Wyścigowy Amilcar ze starym silnikiem 2,5 litra stanął na starcie tegorocznego Le Mans. Prowadzony przez załogę F. Roux i G. Rouault zmuszony był wycofać się z wyścigu na 101 okrążeniu, po przejechaniu 1362,692 kilometrów.
