British product that had earned more dollars for Britain than any
other one-make commodity, namely $70 million in 160 weeks.

1949 with detail modifications. The Devon is also available with
bench-type front seat; this version is designated Devon Mark II,
Model GS2A. Also have a swivelling front quarter windows and
separate sidelights.

A90 Atlantic Sports saloon, Model BE2, was introduced in September
1949. Powered by a 2.6-litre 88-bhp engine it is mechanically
similar to the A90 Atlantic Convertible but with a higher axle
ratio. Distinctive body styling feature front wings that sweep
through to the rear of the body, a wrap-round rear window and a
cyclops type built-in spotlamp.

Sheerline Model DS1 luxury saloon have a six-cylinder 3.9-litre
engine. Model DM1 Limousine is similar but have a lengthened
chassis, different seating and other detail differences.

Sports have Devon chassis fitted with a sporting body by Jensen
and loosely styled on the contemporary Interceptor. Made mainly
for export. Twin carb 1200 cc engine with 46 bhp and top speed of
79 mph. Mechanically the same as the Devon with coil sprung ifs
and cart sprung rear.

The A70 Hereford introduced in October
1950, replaced the Hampshire. Mechanically the same as it's
predecessor it is 3 inches longer and have the 67 bhp 2199cc
engine and top speed of 80 mph. Coil spring ifs and cart sprung
rear but brakes are now fully hydraulic. Longer wheel base provides
a more roomy interior.
