Zakończyła
się produkcja jednego z najbardziej nowatorskich samochodów
ubiegłego dziesięciolecia. Lancia Lambda została
zaprezentowana w 1922 roku i była pierwszym seryjnym autem z
samonośnym nadwoziem. Miała niezależne przednie
zawieszenie i niezwykły, widlasty, czterocylindrowy silnik.
Powstało 13 tysięcy egzemplarzy w dziewięciu
seriach: serie I do V: 4.200, seria VI: 1.300, seria VII: 1.300,
serie VIII i IX: 4.403 szt. Silniki stopniowo powiększano z
2119cc V4 sohc 49 KM, 2370cc V4 sohc 59 KM do 2568cc V4 sohc 69
KM. The production of the new Artena started on 2nd of September. This model is powered by 4-cylinder vee (17 degrees) engine delivering 54 bhp. The wheelbase is 299 cm. It was introduced together with Astura which have basically the same chassis with the wheel base extended to 317.7 cm and V8 powerplant. By the end of the year 210 examples of Artena were made and only 2 of Astura. A particulary
interesting exhibit at this year's Motor Salon in Paris is the
stand of Lancia & Co of Turin who are showing two new models,
a 2-liter 'four' and a small 'eight' of only 2600 cc. Both these
new chassis are of typical Lancia design, that is radically
different fron the ordinary run of cars. Like all Lancia models,
and particulary the famous 'Dilambda', two types of which are also
shown, the new chassis, distinguished by the somewhat peculiar but
harmonius names of 'Artena' and 'Astura', display every sign of
having been designed and built by a motoring enthusiast for car
connoisseur, and Vincenzo Lancia is nothing if not an
enthusiast. Dilambda model 227 was joined by the shorter version 229 with a 329 cm wheel base instead of 347.5 cm. Total production of series I: model 227 (1928/31) – 879, model 229 (1931) - 225 examples. The production of one of the most innovative cars of the last decade – Lambda was discontinued this year. First presented in 1922 the car had unitary construction body and chassis, independent front suspension and an unusual, very narrow vee-four engine. About 13.000 were built in nine series: series I to V: 4.200, series VI: 1.300, series VII: 1.300, series VIII i IX: 4.403 szt. The engine capacity rose from 2119cc V4 sohc 49 bhp, 2370cc V4 sohc 59 bhp to 2568cc V4 sohc 69 bhp.
