TORONADO – DETROIT'S wind-of-change car that seems to be setting the States on a front-drive course. Stopping power now improved with disc front brakes, servo assisted. The V8 engine drives by chain to an automatic transmission placed alongside. Rear suspension has single-leaf springs with four shock-absorbers. Steering is power-assisted, brakes have dual master cylinders, front seats are electrically adjusted six ways. Eight-cyl.; o.h.v.; 6,965 c.c.; 385 b.h.p. gross;
CUTLASS – TYPICAL of the luxury available to the American motorist at little over half the British tax-paid prices, the latest Oldsmobile has adjustable tilt-and-telescopic steering column, power-operated steering and windows, four-way electric front seat adjustment, vacuum-operated luggage boot lock. 1967 safety features include disc front brakes, twin master cylinders and warning light, safety door locks and hinges, anti-spin locking differential.
