Porsche produced two modified competition models. At Le Mans there appeared a low drag closed car with the engine placed inboard and the rear suspension units reversed so that the arms controlling the swing axles pivoted from the extreme rear of the frame. At the Paris Show the company exhibited an open two-seater with the same basic engine arrangement but with twin overhead camshafts to each bank of cylinders, giving an output of 110 h.p. and with the suspension locating arms trailing so as to promote understeer.
