Standard-Triumph entered the medium range saloon car market with 2000 Saloon – an attractive Michelotti styled four-door, five-seater which was unveiled in the summer of 1963. Powered by a 90-bhp version of the six-cylinder, 1998-cc engine used on the Vitesse, this model is otherwise completely new and feature a unitary construction body with twin recessed headlamps above a full width horizontal bar grille and a bonnet air scoop, all independent suspension, servo-assisted front brakes and a luxuriously equipped interior. Top speed approximately 95 mph Price £1087. At the end of the year an estate version was presented.
TR4A have coil spring ifs, more weight, wing mounted chrome flashes
incorporating side lights and extra 4 bhp.
